Standards Development Lead - Primary Industry & Safety
Lead national standards development projects and stakeholder engagement across the primary industry and safety sectors in Australia.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the National Manager – Primary Industry & Safety this role is responsible for managing standards development projects and supporting the work of technical committees across the sector portfolio. The role coordinates the development of Australian Standards and related publications while ensuring standards development activities comply with organisational policies, governance frameworks and project management methodologies. You will work closely with technical committees, industry experts, regulators and internal teams to facilitate consensus outcomes and ensure standards development projects are delivered within agreed timelines and scope.
* Managing the development of national standards and related technical publications
* Establishing and maintaining project plans, schedules and documentation using project management systems
* Coordinating technical committee meetings and facilitating discussions to achieve consensus outcomes
* Preparing and distributing meeting documentation including agendas, draft standards and minutes
* Monitoring committee activity and proactively managing project risks or issues
* Maintaining positive working relationships with committee members and sector stakeholders
* Managing national mirror committee participation in international standards work and balloting processes
* Ensuring projects comply with Standards Australia's policies, procedures and governance frameworks
* Maintaining accurate committee and stakeholder records using organisational systems
About you
You are an organised project professional who enjoys coordinating complex projects and working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders. You will bring:
* Experience in project coordination, administration or stakeholder support roles
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines
* Experience working with project management frameworks or structured delivery methodologies
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
* Experience facilitating meetings and coordinating group discussions
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
