The Royal Children’s Hospital’s (RCH) Vision is “A world where all kids thrive”.

RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

About the Role
This is a Full-Time fixed term position at 80 hours per fortnight (incl ADO), ending 27 Nov 2026 within the Human Resources team.
Supporting a client group at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), this human resource generalist role provides high-level support to managers and staff through the provision of multi-faceted human resource services, advice and skilled expertise. Reporting to the Director Human Resources, this role is a senior member of the Human Resources Team, contributing to the function through broader HR Policy and planning and undertaking organisation-wide projects within the RCH People & Culture strategy.
Classification for this position with range from AO81 – AO85, Grade 8 Year 1 to Grade 8 Year 5 (FTE base salary $121,274.40 to $133,842.80 per annum, plus superannuation plus salary packaging).
What you\'ll achieve:
- Trusted advisor to leaders and managers on HR related strategies and workforce initiatives
- Successful handling of Case Management and employment compliance matters
- Coach and mentor to HR Advisors and positive collaboration across HR and the People & Culture Division
Your skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or relevant industry experience
- Significant proven experience as a Human Resource Partner, providing advice, coaching and mentoring to executives, senior and line managers
- Strong knowledge and experience advising on current employment legislation and confidence to advise on a broad range of ER/IR issues
- Demonstrated ability to successfully guide and support change initiatives
