About the Role
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an Activity Supervisor to join our Forensic Mental Health Service.
The Forensic Mental Health Service is a multidisciplinary service that includes inpatient secure psychiatric beds, out‐patient services and psychiatric clinics, prison in‐reach service, community team and court assessment service. James Nash House is a secure psychiatric hospital providing services primarily to patients who have been declared not guilty by reason of mental impairment or unfit to plead of an offence by the SA court system.
The Activity Supervisor is part of the Occupational Therapy Department and provides assistance and support to the occupational therapists in the delivery of services to patients. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will design and deliver therapeutic activities that support rehabilitation and recovery, helping to create positive outcomes for some of our community's most vulnerable members.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities
* Co‐develop tailored programmes that promote social skills and independence
* Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure activities align with treatment goals
* Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
* Ensure safe and supportive environments for all participants
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, you must possess a minimum of Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring experience in activity coordination, preferably within mental health or disability services. You will demonstrate strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively within a secure healthcare environment.
Required Checks
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check. DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check are required.
Immunisation Risk
Immunisation risk for this position is Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances). SA Health Services are required to implement the addressing vaccine preventable disease policy in the workplace.
