**About the role**
VMCH is currently seeking a Carer Engagement Officer to join the Carer Support Program in Ballarat. Reporting to the Manager of Carer Support, you will be responsible for developing, planning and delivering a range of carer programs to promote the health and well-being of carers. Carer Support may include a range of social, leisure & lifestyle and recreational activities to provide individuals respite from their caring roles.
Furthermore, you will also co-facilitate carer support events and build key external stakeholder relationships within the community to continue promoting and evolving the carer support program.
This is initially a 12-month fixed term part-time role working 30.4 hours per week.
**Skills & Experience**
You will be tertiary qualified with a certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or Leisure & Lifestyle. You will have a working knowledge of Carer Services or the Victorian Carer Strategy as well as demonstrated experience in; developing innovative client programs, promoting, coordinating and facilitating consumer engagement events & activities, and engaging and building key stakeholder community relationships.
You will also have:
- Strong customer focus and high-level verbal communication and interpersonal skills in order to develop positive relationships within and outside the organisation
- Ability to identify key stakeholders and build strong effective working relationships and partnerships (internally and externally)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities
- Ability to work across multiple teams
- A current Victorian Driver's License
- Level 2 First aid and Current CPR
- Ability to work outside of a standard business hour while assisting and delivering programs for carers
