About the role:
As a successful applicant, you will join the team at the Freedom of Information (FOI) division of Victoria Police where you will be required to process FOI requests and provide advice in relation to FOI legislation and process to stakeholders, including members of the public, Victoria Police employees and Government agencies.
The Public Support Information Officer role consists of providing expert and responsive administrative assistance within the division in both the initial receipt of requests as well as the sourcing of appropriate documents.

Your duties will include:
1. Working within a team environment
2. Determining the validity of applications in line with the FOI Act
3. Communicating with applicants and/or their legal representatives to clarify requests, provide advice and updates where appropriate
4. Searching for documents by utilising a variety of databases, systems or communicating with other areas of Victoria Police
5. Provide advice regarding FOI legislation, policies and administration
As the successful applicant, you will have:
6. Interpersonal and communication skills
7. Attention to detail and proven skills in the maintenance of accurate records
8. Investigative and analytical skills
9. The ability to manage your own workload whilst meeting regulated time frames
Requirements and relevant information:
10. Two (2) x full-time, fixed-term & two (2) x full-time, ongoing positions available until 30/06/2025.
11. These positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
12. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
13. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
