About the Role
Full Time | Brand‐New Offices in Sutherland
Step into a role that truly matters! Based in our modern offices just minutes from the train station, cafes, and gyms, you'll be a key player in shaping Sylvanvale's financial future. This pivotal role will deliver accurate, timely and compliant financial accounting, reporting and analysis that supports sound decision‐making, strong financial control and the sustainable operation of Sylvanvale.
What You'll Do
* Preparation of month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparation of monthly actual corporate cost centre and Sylvanvale Foundation management accounts including variance analysis and commentary
* Preparation of annual budget for corporate cost centres and Sylvanvale Foundation
* Liaise with budget holders and internal stakeholders to explain financial results, resolve queries and support informed decision‐making
* Maintain cashflow model, including Term Deposit management
* Support Accounts Payable Officer and back up for same
* Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts
* Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation and disposals
* Lead statutory reporting and audit processes, liaising with external auditors as required
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation and regulatory obligations - including BAS, FBT, ABS and grant acquittal submissions within timeframes
* Support Technology One Financials processing, reporting and system improvements
* Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
About You
You're passionate about human rights of people with a disability and committed to making a difference. With strong analytical skills, problem‐solving ability, and a proactive mindset, you'll thrive in this dynamic role.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Accounting degree or equivalent
* Minimum five years' experience in a financial accounting role
* Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skillsDemonstrated experience with month‐end close and balance sheet reconciliations
* Experience supporting audits and regulatory reporting
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
Desirable Skills & Experience
* CPA or CA qualified – or working towards – highly desirable
* Experience with Technology One Financials
* Experience in not‐for‐profit or complex service organisations
Successful applicants will be required to obtain:
* National Police Check (paid for by us)
* Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
