The Opportunity

Job tasks and responsibilities
Reporting to the Workshop Manager to ensure the smooth and timely operation of servicing and ongoing fleet requirements.
* Perform mechanical/electrical repairs on buses, trailers, light vehicles and to include major overhauls as directed;
* Prioritise work schedules for vehicle repairs and maintenance;
* Assist in reviewing vehicle defect report sheets and raise work orders to repair vehicle;
* Maintain vehicle service data and history records in the VMS program;
* Organise repairs and service to workshop equipment as required;
* Ensure the workshop is maintained in a clean and safe state;
* Responsible for ensuring compliance with the occupational health and safety management plan;
* Authorise and place purchase orders as required;
* Comply with all company procedures;
* Other duties as required, including but not limited to:
* Professional driving, on adhoc basis only.
* Transfers of vehicles from depot to depot.
Skills and experience
* The successful applicant must have attained relevant trade qualifications (Cert III in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic);
* Be able to maintain and organise scheduling of services and maintenance work;
* Strong mechanical, workshop and safety knowledge;
* Previous Bus/Coach experience, preferred;
* MR Licence, or willing to obtain;
* High work ethics, reliable and ability to produce high quality workmanship;
* Ability to work under pressure, to agreed time frames;
* Diagnostic / fault finding skills;
* Strong communicator and ability to collaborate with teams across the business;
Job benefits
* Lucrative salary of $60p/hr to $65p/hr depending on qualifications and experience;
