Key responsibilities include participating in and providing medical support to the interdisciplinary team across hospice, community and hospital based palliative care programs under the supervision of experienced consultants.
* Provide expert advice and support to primary care teams on patient management and treatment options.
* Collaborate with families and carers to teach them skills and strategies to effectively manage patient care at home.
* Work closely with healthcare professionals to coordinate access to necessary equipment and resources.
The North Canberra Hospital provides a comprehensive range of services including acute and sub-acute care to residents of the northside of Canberra and Southern NSW.

About the Role:
The Palliative Care Registrar will be responsible for working closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive seamless and coordinated care throughout their journey.
Requirements:
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
* Current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011.
* Pre-employment National Police Check.
* Compliance with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
* Compliance with North Canberra Hospital Credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for medical professionals.
This is a temporary position available for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension up to less than 12 months and/or permanency.
