We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

When you join us, you can enjoy a variety of benefits, including:

* flexible work options, including working from home up to 2 days per week.
* professional development, training, and on-the-job learningto advance your career.

* opportunity to support our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and various Diversity and Inclusion Working Groups and Committees.

The Work Area:

RevenueWA collects revenue on behalf of the Government and pays grants and subsidies to Western Australians. Although a business unit within DTF, the Commissioner of State Revenue is an independent statutory role and is personally responsible for the administration of State taxation and grant laws by RevenueWA staff. This administrative function covers the application of duties, land tax and payroll tax laws, as well as carrying out compliance audits and investigations, and developing revenue related legislation. RevenueWA increases taxpayer awareness through education programs and manages the legislative appeals process.

The Department of Treasury and Finance currently operates under two sets of organisational values, following its formation on 1 July 2025. The values of clarity, empathy, growth and collaboration continue to guide everything we do in RevenueWA. In time, as we settle in our new structure and culture, we will collaboratively develop a unified set of values that represent who we are as the Department of Treasury and Finance.

The Role:

The Senior Revenue Consultant reviews assessments and decisions made under the State tax legislation and grant and subsidies schemes administered by the Commissioner of State Revenue, manages the progress of Tribunal and Appeal Court matters, and provides technical advice concerning the application and administration of legislation.

Currently there are two (2) permanent full-time or part-time positions available for filling.

The position operates in the Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful applicants will:

* Be easily able to comprehend and interpret legislation, and readily understand the policy behind legislative schemes;
* Have excellent communication skills, and be able to explain complex concepts using plain English;
* Enjoy applying their analytical skills to a wide variety of legal and factual problems;
* Have a keen eye for detail; and
* Work closely and collaboratively within the team and with external agencies.
