A little about the role
Reporting to the Team Manager, the Social Worker will make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care in a family setting.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
* Provide ongoing support via phone and supervisory visits, including occasional unannounced visits, ensuring thorough documentation.
* Support children and families in maintaining contact and assist with smooth introductions to foster carers.
* Perform direct work and assessments of children, young people, and foster carers based on identified needs.
* Ensure Risk Assessments are completed, meeting all requirements and complying with child protection procedures.
The base salary for this position is $88,090 - $94,788/annum (based on 1.0 FTE) + super + vehicle & fuel card + generous NFP packaging available (up to $15,900/annum). This is a full-time, ongoing position.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll come with:
* A recognised Social Work Qualification (or similar)
* Demonstrated experience working with children, supporting their individuality and fostering their development.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and publications related to children's services, as well as current best practices and child safeguarding standards in the state.
* Sound understanding of child protection procedures and the Code of Conduct for Foster Carers.

* Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check, LCS check and hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid WWCC.
