About the Role
As a System Administrator, you’ll provide technical and strategic support across system installations, software administration, and infrastructure operations. You’ll work within an integrated team to deliver robust, secure, and scalable systems, including cloud and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and supervise installations and de-installations of hardware/software
- Evaluate and test new system software, including cloud-based solutions
- Develop diagnostic tools and procedures for troubleshooting
- Manage virtual, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Automate tasks using scripting and orchestration tools
Technical Environment:
- Linux, Splunk, Ansible
- Networking, database management, and security protocols
The Successful Candidate
You’ll be a skilled systems administrator with experience in infrastructure operations, systems design, and software administration. You’ll bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in secure environments.
Essential Criteria Includes:
- System Installation & Removal (HSIN Level 4)
- System Software Administration (SYSP Level 4)
- Infrastructure Operations (ITOP Level 4)
- Systems Design (DESN Level 4)
A degree in Computer Science or a related field is expected, along with proficiency in relevant technologies and tools.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD or Melbourne, VIC.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizens with a minimum NV2 (Negative Vetting 2) security clearance, though a TSPV (Top Secret Positive Vetting) is preferred. Candidates that do not hold a TSPV may be asked to undergo a clearance uplift. Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) are highly preferred.
