Cardiac Services at Townsville University Hospital delivers North Queensland's largest tertiary cardiac service, providing advanced cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery support, and comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care. About your opportunity
As a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist in Clinical Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging, you will provide expert clinical care across echocardiography, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, stress testing, and inpatient/outpatient cardiology services. You will contribute to multidisciplinary care, lead clinical governance, supervise junior doctors, and support research and teaching in a dynamic tertiary service setting. This role supports high-quality, patient‑centred cardiac care for the region.
Requirements
* MBBS or equivalent qualification.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Cardiology).
* Current registration as a Specialist Cardiologist with AHPRA.
* Advanced clinical experience in Cardiology, experience in echocardiography, including transthoracic echo, Transesophageal echo, Stress echocardiography and 3D Echocardiography.
* Commitment to research, teaching, and continuous professional development.
* Evidence of vaccinations for VPD risk roles in accordance with Queensland Health policy.
* A probationary period may apply.
