The Bushcare Program is responsible for the co-ordination of up to 65 volunteer Bushcare and Landcare groups, participating in Council's Bushcare Program. The Project Officer supports the program with event management (annual Bushcare Picnic) and administration tasks (including Bushcare website pages) as well as being available to cover Bushcare Each officer will take primary responsibility for the support of a portion of the groups.
They will also contribute to the management of the Bushcare Program by providing ongoing assistance and support for volunteer Bushcare groups in accordance with Council's Bushcare procedures, plans and policies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management and community engagement. You'll hold a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Areas Restoration) or equivalent, along with a current Class C Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate. An AQF Level 3 Chemical Users Certificate and Working With Children Check clearance are required, or you must be willing to obtain them. With at least two years' experience in bushland regeneration and team leadership, you'll be confident in training others in bush regeneration techniques and facilitating community events. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within Council's engagement framework. You'll also bring sound computer skills, including website administration and mapping applications, and demonstrate a commitment to Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity legislation.
This is a term contract position with the possibility of permanency in the future
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $65,523 gross per annum
* 12% superannuation
* Adverse working conditions allowance $1,143 gross per annum
* performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
