Job Overview
The Manager, Engineering, Maintenance & Construction is a leadership role that oversees the engineering and build of interactive exhibits.
This position requires proven leadership in engineering/fabrication for interactive exhibits, themed entertainment, museum/gallery fit-outs, or related hardware production.
Responsibilities:
* Lead engineering and fabrication delivery for new exhibits: translate design intent into buildable solutions, plan production, and oversee assembly, testing, and commissioning.
* Own lifecycle maintenance: implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs, spares, and asset records to maximise uptime and reduce reactive fixes.
* Establish and run QA/QC processes: stage gates, test plans, documentation, and change control to ensure quality and compliance.
* Ensure compliance and safety: implement safe systems of work, JSA and relevant standards; lead incident reviews and continuous improvement.
* Manage a team: recruit, coach, and manage engineers, technicians, and trades; plan resources and contractor usage.
* Control budgets and schedules: forecast labour/materials, track costs, manage procurement, and deliver to agreed timelines.
* Approve technical solutions: review and sign off engineering approaches; coordinate external certifications where required.
* Collaborate across functions: partner with Design, Software & Digital, Experience Curation, and Project Delivery to de-risk integration and installation.
* Manage logistics: plan and oversee movement of materials and exhibits between suppliers, workshop, warehouse, and sites; ensure proper packing and handling.
* Drive standardisation: elevate design-for-maintenance, documentation standards, and modularity to support travelling/commercial deployments.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; 5+ years experience in engineering management; strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering or related field; PMP certification; experience with exhibit design and fabrication.
