This role involves:Collaborating with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to refine product solutions aligned with user needs and business goals.Building tools and frameworks to integrate Canva into learning management systems for teachers.Developing scalable backend services to support millions of teachers and students.Leading major projects, planning tasks, and maintaining team communication through excellent verbal and written skills.Mentoring other engineers and supporting their professional growth and technical challenges.Balancing high-quality solutions with timely delivery, avoiding over-engineering without compromising quality.Resolving technical issues and participating in on-call rotations.You're probably a match ifYou work well with non-technical stakeholders to shape product strategies.You have strong Java backend experience, API development, and database skills.You are familiar with distributed microservices on AWS.You can break projects into goals and milestones for delivery.You communicate effectively, explaining complex concepts clearly.You are solution-oriented, proposing scalable architectures and balancing trade-offs.Nice to haves (but not required):Experience with DynamoDB or NoSQL databases.Experience with Learning Management Systems or third-party integrations.Knowledge of SSO protocols like LTI, OpenId Connect, SAML.Experience with workflow management or reporting tools.Background in education or teaching sectors.About the teamOur mission is to ignite creativity in every learner by making tools fun, accessible, and efficient, supporting teachers, course creators, and learners in various settings.
