**The Role**
The Victorian Government's North East Link Program is Victoria's biggest road project that will fix the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network. The project will connect the Eastern Freeway to the M80 Ring Road with new twin tunnels, taking 15,000 trucks a day off local roads, slashing travel times by up to 35 minutes and create new open spaces and walking and cycling connections for local communities.
The project includes a massive overhaul of the Eastern Freeway, creating new express lanes and Melbourne's first dedicated busway with two new park and ride facilities improving access to public transport in the eastern suburbs.
Symal are working with North East Link Program, Laing O'Rourke, Arcadis and WSP to develop and deliver value-for-money engineering solutions for North East Link Program's South Package, which includes Eastern Freeway upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road including major bridge upgrades, road upgrades, lane duplications, a new interchange connecting to the North East Link Tunnels and new and upgraded walking and cycling connections and open spaces.
**The Role**
- Manage finance, cost, claim and reporting for the project
- Early detection of potential commercial issues; development and implementation of strategies to resolve them promptly and satisfactorily.
- Assist Project Team in the management of commercial risk and opportunity for Symal projects.
- Implement commercial and financial process for use across the Symal group.
- Preparation of commercial critical risk reviews and strategy
**About you**
What we need from you
- Post Grad Degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or other associated disciplines.
- Experience in the construction industry including with recent experience in a commercial management role
- Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities supported by high level verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
