Help shape Australia's international education future and support a major government initiative that will strengthen partnerships across Southeast Asia.
The Opportunity
Australia's prosperity is closely tied to the stability and growth of our Southeast Asian neighbours. To support this shared ambition, the Commonwealth Government is leading the development of a Roadmap that will guide how Australian education providers expand internationally.
As an APS6 Researcher, you will be at the heart of this work. You'll turn complex policy landscapes, market insights and government perspectives into clear, evidence-based analysis that directly shapes a national roadmap.
This is a fantastic role for someone who thrives on research, loves synthesising information, and enjoys working with diverse stakeholders across government, higher education and international networks.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will contribute critical analysis and insight that drives policy design, strategic planning and cross-agency collaboration. Your work will include:
* Conducting research and analysis across policy documents, open-source material and sector insights to inform evidence-based decision making.
* Supporting the planning and delivery of analytical projects in line with government data governance requirements.
* Preparing clear, actionable reports and insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Contributing to stakeholder engagement across government, industry and education providers, including participating in consultation processes with foreign government partners.
* Providing high-quality policy and project support by drafting briefs, reports, talking points and documentation that inform senior decision-making.
* Coordinating inputs from government agencies and supporting secretariat functions when required.
Your work will directly inform Australia's strategic direction and support a major government initiative with national significance.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, analytically minded, and confident engaging with diverse stakeholders. You will bring:
* Demonstrated experience in research, analysis or data-focused roles, including the ability to synthesise complex information.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can translate technical insights into clear, compelling messaging.
* High attention to detail, strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* A collaborative, customer-focused approach with the confidence to work across teams and with external stakeholders.
* Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
What You'll Get
* 9 month labour hire contract commencing in April 2026
* Work at the equivalent of an APS 6 classification level
* The pay range will be $65 - $71 per hour plus 12% super
* Hybrid work arrangements
* Part-time arrangements could be considered (4 days or 9 day fortnight)
* A supportive and collaborative team environment
* A strong management team who bring the energy
