Job Description
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing logistics operations to ensure efficient transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution processes. This role drives cost-effective solutions, enhances operational efficiency, and ensures compliance with local regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage the timely and accurate processing of sales orders, liaise with customers, and relevant departments within the organization for prompt delivery and satisfied customers.
2. Provide regular metrics on delivery times and backlogs.
3. Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
4. Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
5. Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams for seamless logistics operations.
6. Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing excess stock.
7. Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
8. Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
9. Lead negotiations with logistics providers and vendors for favorable terms.
10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes.
11. Manage and develop a high-performing logistics team.
12. Order Management
* Sales Orders for Australia
o Place Sales Orders to the US Customer Service Team.
o Manage sales virtual warehouse stock levels.
o Manage stock transfers between warehouses or locations.
* Customer Purchase Orders
o Lead and manage the pick, pack, and shipment of Customer Purchase Orders.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations management.
Proven track record in managing large-scale logistics operations in Australia.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Logistics import/export customs expertise, inventory management, and supply chain management across multiple industries.
* Strong project change management skills to manage multiple projects and resources in a dynamic environment.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Proven cost reduction track record and project management skills.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or 10+ years of related experience.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in an office environment requiring frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of computers and digital devices is required. May stand extended periods facilitating meetings and walking facilities. Some local travel necessary operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid driver's license is required. Some domestic and international travel also required.
