Bakery associates play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products and excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
* Delivering daily conditions that meet the company's expectations for at-shelf product availability, freshness, quality, and value.
* Offering product samples, answering product questions, and offering customers assistance in finding or suggesting products.
Leadership Responsibilities
As a bakery associate, you will promote trust and respect among colleagues by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job-specific information.
Adhering to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines is essential.
Financial Responsibilities
Maintaining awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reporting any discrepancies in inventory is critical.
Reviewing/inspecting products for quality and freshness and taking appropriate action with those items is also crucial.
Compliance/Safety Responsibilities
Ensuring company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained.
Adhering to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) & Country of Origin Labeling (COOL), and Department of Agriculture (DOA) is essential.
Executing all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access is critical.
Reinforcing safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and identifying unsafe conditions to report to store management is also necessary.
Notifying management of customer or employee accidents is crucial.
Reporting all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud is essential.
Ensuring adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations is critical.

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be exposed to working in indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions.
It is essential to note that the employee will frequently require to twist back and/or neck, walk on a slippery or cluttered floor surface, work with hazardous equipment, and be exposed to sharp objects.
Occasional exposure to loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, and other toxins may also occur.
