Overview
Program Coordinator - Early Years Strategy role at Department of Education, Western Australia. This is a 38 month fixed term, part-time (0.4 FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2025.
Location
Cassia Primary School (PS) is situated on Kariyarra land in the Pilbara Region. The role is attached to Cassia PS and works across Port Hedland, Newman, and surrounding areas.
The Role
The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership (the partnership) is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate early years leader to lead and promote the partnership's vision to strengthen a community-based approach to ensuring all students start school well-prepared through coordinating and overseeing the partnership's on school site Early Learning Programs (ELPs). The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the BHP Pilbara Education Partnership Coordinator and principals to prepare children to be ready for school through the ELPs. The ELPs follow the 3a Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a), a set of evidence-based teaching and learning strategies that maximise children's learning outcomes by enriching and enhancing educator practice, specifically promoting intentional and meaningful adult-child interactions.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee on-school Early Learning Programs (ELPs) to strengthen a community-based approach to early literacy and school readiness.
Collaborate with the BHP Pilbara Education Partnership Coordinator and school principals to prepare children to be ready for school through the ELPs.
Support implementation of the 3a Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a) in partnership with educators to maximise learning outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements
Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
High level interpersonal and public relations skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and achieve outcomes.
Demonstrated professional knowledge to ensure high educational outcomes for all students, including Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and students with special needs.
Demonstrated capacity to manage physical and financial resources.
Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia; Working With Children Check; and ability to obtain a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check with a current Screening Clearance Number prior to start.

Eligibility
Be an Australian or Current Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
