Coach Project Officer

Flinders St Melbourne

12 month fixed term

About the role

The Operations Group is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of train and coach services across regional Victoria and increasingly peri urban Melbourne.

As Coach Project Officer, you are responsible for supporting the implementation, integration, and ongoing utilisation of new or upgraded systems in V/Line coach planning, such as the Optibus planning platform.

Support in the development of documentation and process guides, and the embedding of Optibus into the broader Coach Management Team's workflows. Planning short-term alternative transport changes to meet the requirements of short-term special events and occupation plans, including any required supervisor coverage.

Key accountabilities include:

* System Implementation & Integration; Act as a key liaison between operational teams, IT, and external stakeholders to support successful system adoption.
* Provide support to ensure Optibus and other workflows are embedded into daily planning, scheduling, and reporting processes.
* Training & Documentation; Create and maintain clear documentation, process guides, and standard operating procedures for Optibus related activities.
* Operational Planning & Compliance
* Identify and manage any impacts to scheduled coaches as a result of planned disruptions.

Location & Travel Considerations

This role offers a flexible working arrangement with 3 days in office, 2 working from home with core office days as Wednesdays at V/Lines Flinders St. Office location

About you

You will hold strong planning and scheduling experience with particular focus on Excel spreadsheets within the transport sector or large organisational environments.

* Experience in planning or transport planning activities
* Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Excel
* Demonstrated experience working with a very high attention to detail
