Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee the operational rhythm of the publication, ensuring our vendor partners receive exceptional service, our directory remains up-to-date, and our sales and marketing activities run smoothly. The successful candidate will bring a balance of commercial acumen, digital know-how, and strong organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Management
* Research, qualify, and pursue new business leads
* Maintain regular monthly check-ins with existing vendors
* Oversee onboarding, contract renewals, and ongoing support
* Build and nurture strong vendor relationships to encourage retention and growth
Website & Directory Management (WordPress)
* Schedule and publish new directory listings.
* Remove expired listings and ensure accuracy across the directory.
* Update metadata, SEO fields, and optimise listing content as needed.
Digital Marketing & Advertising
* Manage banner ad workflows: request artwork, follow up with vendors, upload and schedule placements.
* Execute email marketing campaigns and automations (Klaviyo or similar).
* Monitor Google Analytics and SEO metrics, providing basic performance reports.
* Oversee shared inboxes and maintain prompt response times
* Manage social media posting and strategy (Instagram, TikTok), including occasional Meta ad campaigns.
* Provide light blogging and editorial assistance where required.
Administration & Reporting
* Maintain and update the master spreadsheet of clients, payments, and renewal dates.
* Support internal workflows and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
Print Advertising
* Manage all print advertising tasks, including emailing advertisers, saving and organising ad files, and reviewing all artwork for accuracy.
Must-Have Skills
* Proven sales, account management, or similar client-facing experience
* Strong knowledge of WordPress, including basic SEO optimisation
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and solve problems independently
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Experience with Klaviyo or similar email marketing tools.
* Experience running Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads
* Proficiency in InDesign or Photoshop
* Content creation skills for Instagram and TikTok
