Construction Estimator Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our projects' initial stages, pre and post contract, you will work closely with our Design, Projects and Administration team to achieve best possible outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing plans to estimate costs, conducting site assessments and preparing accurate estimates, providing detailed reports and quotes, submitting RFQ's, creating accurate and detailed estimates, building out and maintaining/updating estimating software with trade and supplier rates, gaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, creating Purchase Orders, material take-offs and orders in conjunction with our Contract Administrator, keeping detailed records of communication with clients and subcontractors, and budget tracking of projects in conjunction with our accounts department.
To succeed in this role, you should have relevant trade experience or education qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Building & Construction [estimation], Quantity Surveying or equivalent). A proven track record in estimating, scoping works, and generating reports is essential. Additionally, you should have sound knowledge of construction methods, previous experience with estimating/take off software, proficiency with Microsoft Office, good numerical skills and attention to detail, and excellent organisation skills and a get-it-done attitude.
