The Senior Finance Officer supports the Manager, Finance, Risk and Compliance in delivering the State Library's core finance, risk, and procurement functions.
The role has a strong operational focus and contributes directly to financial governance, compliance, and organisational performance.
Key responsibilities
* Monitoring financial performance, managing reconciliations, cashflows, and forecasting, and preparing accurate financial reports.
* Providing financial, procurement, and risk management advice to senior management, staff, and the Libraries Board, including year-end reporting.
* Managing contracts, procurement activities, and financial delegations in accordance with Treasurer's Instructions and government policies.
* Identifying and resolving complex accounting and invoicing issues, and contributing to business improvement initiatives.
* Coordinating and supporting a comprehensive risk management program that meets departmental and whole-of-government requirements.
* Preparing ad-hoc financial and management reports and undertaking project work as required.
Special Conditions
The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
This role requires a National Criminal History check.
