This service is open during business hours.The permanent full-time role has a rehabilitation focus, the part time role is positioned to work with our mainstream continuing care team. The two positions are embedded in our multidisciplinary mental health team which supports consumers and their families by providing person centred, trauma informed mental health assessment and intervention. Clinicians are allocated a number of consumers to work with, this involves taking the lead in coordinating their care, alongside their GP and other support providers, and delivering interventions tailored to the consumers identified need. Throughout the week there are a number of clinical meetings where clinicians are able to talk about the consumers they are supporting and seek input from other members of the MDT.The Social Worker will have access to regular clinical supervision, provided by Hunter New England Health, within work time. They will also be supported day to day by a Senior Social Worker, a Clinical Coordinator and the Team Manager. In addition to these supports the service is supported by a Service Manager and social workers within HNEMH are supported by the Head of Social Work.Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service has a structured orientation for all new staff. We also facilitate weekly professional development sessions for staff.
