Australian Citizenship with Baseline Clearance Mandatory Multiple locations available ACT, QLD, VIC 12 month Contract with Up to 24 Months extensions Our Client a leading government agency is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. The candidate will join the OpenStack Platform Team. The team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of on-premises private cloud platform, which spans multiple data centres and incorporates Red Hat OpenStack for compute, Red Hat Ceph for storage, and the underlying physical infrastructure. This role will contribute to both business-as-usual operations and ongoing platform enhancements. Key duties and responsibilities Provide day-to-day operational support for Red Hat OpenStack and Ceph clusters in a production environment. Automate routine maintenance, upgrade, and deployment activities using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Bash. Identify areas for improvement and independently deliver platform enhancements. Skills and Experience required: Demonstrated experience in deploying, administering, and supporting large-scale on-premises Red Hat OpenStack environments. Proficiency in infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Bash. Familiarity with source control systems, particularly Git, and modern development workflows.
