We are working closely with a valued client to recruit an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to lead the payroll function for a diverse national workforce of over 800 employees. This is a stand-alone role reporting directly to the CFO and offers the opportunity to take full ownership of end-to-end payroll delivery.
About the Role:
* Manage and process fortnightly payroll for full-time, part-time, and casual staff, ensuring compliance with relevant Awards and EBAs.
* Maintain and reconcile payroll data across Micropay and UKG
* Conduct checks and resolve discrepancies between systems prior to each payroll cycle.
* Liaise with Finance, HR, Rostering, and Operations to ensure payroll accuracy.
* Respond promptly to staff payroll enquiries and produce required reports.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with superannuation, tax, Workcover, and leave entitlements.
* Mondays are particularly busy; extended hours on these days are balanced with time in lieu later in the week.
About You:
* Proven experience (5+ years) managing complex payrolls in a senior capacity is essential.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Award and EBA interpretation, superannuation, and payroll compliance.
* Proficient in Micropay, and ideally UKG with strong Excel skills.
* Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
