We are seeking an experienced and highly respected senior leader with a mix of tax policy, data, economic, financial and / or government relations skills to take on the role of Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Analysis.As the Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Analysis, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated policy and data specialists.You will be required to understand policy agendas impacting the tax system and ensure the implications of policy or legislative change on tax revenue bases are understood and clearly communicated. You will maintain strong relationships across the ATO, the APS and the academic and research communities.You will work with a range of internal and external partners to:Lead teams that model the revenue impacts of proposed administrative and legislative changes to tax policy and law.Lead teams that prepare administered expense costings for proposed administrative and legislative changes to tax policy and law.Liaise with Treasury and the Department of Finance as appropriate.Provide compliance costings and advice on Office of Impact Assessment requirements.Prepare assessments of the costs to the ATO associated with implementing proposed administrative and legislative changes to tax policy and law.Work with colleagues who prepare annual report information, assist with performance measurement and contribute to revenue reporting.Provide data services in a policy context to the ATO and to Treasury and, where permitted, to other APS agencies.Oversee the publication of Taxation Statistics, and the public release of a range of ATO data to aid in economic/financial analysis and other research.Work with academics and researchers on tax data and policy, to influence a more sophisticated public discourse and evidence-based analysis.This role may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Canberra.
