Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced automotive professionals and an MR Truck Driver to join our Prestons, NSW team.
Automotive Diagnostic Technician
The Role
You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex automotive faults using advanced diagnostic tools, supporting the efficiency and reputation of our workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed diagnostics and inspections across a wide range of vehicle makes and models
Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify and troubleshoot faults
Carry out repairs and component replacements to manufacturer standards
Prepare clear and accurate reports on all work completed
Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly to customers
Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and attention to detail
Stay up-to-date with evolving automotive systems and technologies
About You
Minimum 3 years' experience in an automotive diagnostic or advanced technician role
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including complex/intermittent faults
Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic vehicle systems
Confident using diagnostic scan tools, software and test equipment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Current, valid driver's licence
The Role
You will carry out servicing, repairs and mechanical work across a variety of vehicles while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
Proven experience as a mechanic or automotive technician
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electronic vehicle systems
Competent using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Current, valid driver's licence
Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling Licence
Roadworthy Inspection Licence
Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles
Additional Responsibilities
Perform servicing, repairs and inspections to manufacturer standards
Accurately document all work completed
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
Work collaboratively with diagnostic technicians and workshop staff
MR Truck Driver
The Role
As our MR-licensed Truck Driver, you will safely transport vehicles and specialised ADAS calibration and diagnostic equipment between our Prestons workshop and job sites. You'll play a key role in service delivery and represent Smart AVR professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport vehicles, ADAS calibration rigs and diagnostic equipment
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Coordinate with the workshop team for pickups and drop-offs
Maintain accurate delivery logs and report vehicle issues promptly
Keep the truck clean, organised and well-stocked
What We're Looking For
Valid MR licence with a clean driving record
Experience in truck or heavy-vehicle operations
Strong commitment to safety and OEM procedures
Excellent communication and customer-focused attitude
Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
