What we are looking for:
We're seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Plant Operator to support the delivery of construction and maintenance activities across the Fraser Coast. In this hands-on role, you'll operate a range of heavy plant and machinery used in the upkeep of roads, drainage, and other infrastructure. Working as part of a supportive and values-driven team, you'll contribute directly to building better communities across our region.
What your day will look like:
* Operate a variety of Council plant and fleet safely and effectively
* This role mainly drives a water truck but roller, grader or other machine experience would be an advantage
* Undertake construction and maintenance of roads and drainage
* Complete daily checks, inspections, and basic maintenance of equipment
* Accurately complete timesheets and daily records
* Follow WH&S procedures and maintain clean, safe work practices
* Assist with labouring and other site duties as required

What you'll need for success:
* Construction Induction (White Card)
* Current MR Licence (minimum requirement)
* Proven experience operating plant and machinery in civil works
* Knowledge of road and drainage construction and maintenance
* Sound communication skills and ability to follow instructions
* Strong commitment to safety and risk management
* Ability to work within a team and under limited supervision
What's nice to have:
* Roller ticket
* VOCs or licences for front end loader, backhoe, grader, skid steer or excavator
* Current HC Licence
* Traffic Management Implementation (Level 2)
