The Opportunity
As a Management Accountant with Urban Utilities you will support the Financial Planning and Analysis team in preparing functional business unit financial plans and internal reports to inform management on the progress and effectiveness of strategic and operational plans.
This role provides real-time analysis to guide key operating decisions by highlighting performance outcomes in standardised reporting and ad-hoc performance analysis and reporting.
Working collaboratively with key decision makers and other finance personnel this role fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to seek alternative ways of working by leveraging digital tools to automate reporting and analysis and bring budget owners closer to their performance.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting Finance Business or a related discipline is required.
* Working towards or completed CPA/CA qualification.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a management accounting financial analysis or business partnering role.
* Strong understanding of budgeting forecasting cost control and financial reporting processes.
* Proven ability to analyse financial performance identify variances and provide actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
* Experience working with business stakeholders to understand financial drivers challenge assumptions and support effective resource allocation.
* Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
* Experience preparing monthly management reports dashboards or performance commentary for senior leadership is highly desirable.
