Sydney
EY

Offer description

At EY, you'll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we're counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

**The opportunity**

We are looking for a Manager to join our Sydney or Melbourne Transaction Diligence (Financial Services) team.

As part of our Transaction Diligence team you will work with a range of clients, from entrepreneur led businesses to the largest global enterprises. You will have the opportunity to work with both corporate and private equity clients, across various industry sectors. The complex nature of our projects means you'll often be working with other EY colleagues from varied backgrounds and disciplines.

Through analysis of financial, commercial and operational data, our industry-aligned transaction diligence professionals add true value to clients, providing insights to key decision-makers that help them increase value and reduce the risks and uncertainty inherent in transactions. You will help to identify key value drivers, challenge assumptions about future performance, search for and advise on hidden value, and work with other EY service teams to deliver an integrated approach to our clients before, during and after the transaction.

Within EY, we have a dedicated Financial Services Office across Transaction Advisory, Consulting, Tax and Assurance that focus on the financial services sector, allowing our transaction advice to be specific for the financial services industry. Our financial services team serve a broad array of banking and capital markets, insurance, and wealth and asset management (including superannuation) clients. You will be part of and can benefit from the deep experience of the EY Financial Services Office across Asia Pacific.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Manage due diligence engagements related to the acquisition or disposal of businesses by private equity investors or strategic corporate buyers
- Analyse financial/operational results of targets through reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management
- Project manage teams, information flows and manage key stakeholders
- Prepare/evaluate pro forma financial information
- Identify issues that impact purchase price and deal structuring
- Based on your analysis write up your findings and recommendations
- Share your technical and other knowledge with your team
- Play a role in business plan initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework) and new business opportunities by building client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of client business
- Understand the capabilities of the firm and look for opportunities to sell additional services to our clients

**Skills and attributes for success**
- Experience in a Transaction Diligence role within a Consulting environment, working independently and with senior stakeholders on multiple engagements
- Be an excellent communicator, both oral and written
- Have project management skills
- Be an effective time manager, able to keep calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
- Be a team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels

**Ideally, you'll also have**
- A bachelors or master's degree in accounting, business, finance or economics
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, or international equivalent
- A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas in a collaborative team environment

**What we offer**
- Success as defined by you: We'll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
- Continuous learning: personalised career development including coaching, experiences and formal learning so you'll develop the mindset and skills you'll need to thrive in the future.
- Diverse and inclusive culture: You'll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

At EY, you'll be rewarded and recognised based on your performance and our comprehensive benefits package can be tailored to your individual needs.

We understand the importance of social distancing at this time so our recruitment and onboarding process may be managed virtually so we can continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of EY people, clients, guests and the broader public.

**The exceptional EY experience. It's yours to build.**
