We are Australia's largest and oldest Student Union. We are about students on Campus. As the primary provider of coffee & food on campus, we have a wide range of cafes and quick service venues that include our own Food Truck & Coffee Van.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Welcoming customers and providing them with No.1 service
Preparing and serving outstanding hot/cold beverages
Using your strong knowledge of our menus to ensure the best customer experience
Ensuring coffee equipment, machines and utensils are clean and sanitised regularly
Helping with general duties including opening/closing the outlet, setups, accurate order taking, cash handling, serving food, cleaning, and supporting the team with your infectious 'can do' attitude
Using your strong interpersonal skills to sell the benefits of the USU Rewards membership to customers
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Minimum 1 years' experience working with commercial coffee machines in a high-volume environment (using at least 10kgs of beans per day)
Minimum 1 years' demonstrated experience in a fast paced, customer experience focused food environment (café / restaurant / QSR)
Minimum 1 years' experience using touch screen point of sale systems (POS) in a retail or food and beverage environment
An infectiously positive, flexible, hardworking attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A love of coffee and great food

THE PAY
$32.50 (inclusive of 25% casual loading) per hour + 12% Superannuation
HOURS OF WORK
We have several positions with varying hours and a range of locations, perfect for students. We don't do weekends, so all shifts are Monday - Friday.
* You must be available to work a minimum of 3- 4 shifts a week, each shift consists of a minimum of 5 hours.
START DATE
Successful applicants will be required to be available for the compulsory induction on Monday, 9th February 2026 at 9am to 1pm. Please consider this date prior to applying.

The USU (University of Sydney Union) is proudly Australia's oldest and largest not-for-profit student organisation, dedicated to providing students with the best possible university experience.
