As our highly valued Payment Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our customers and strengthening the integrity of our payment operations. In addition to completing complex processing activities, you will investigate exceptions, identify root causes, lead improvements, and support the resolution of high-risk or sensitive customer issues. You will contribute to operational resilience by sharing knowledge, coaching others, and helping the team continuously lift performance.
The Payment Operations Team helps customers make high value domestic and international payments, action payment exceptions to ensure our customers received efficient transaction services, process foreign cheque presentments, action reconciliation exceptions to manage risk to the bank, and support customers in resolving card and transaction disputes.
You'll make an impact by:
Performing and overseeing daily payment processing activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance with regulatory requirements, and consistent adherence to established controls and processes.
Leading the investigation of payment exceptions, system issues, and irregularities, ensuring thorough analysis, timely resolution, and identification of root-cause trends.
Reviewing and resolving complex or escalated card and transaction dispute cases, providing clear rationale and ensuring customer-focused outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
2+ years' experience in payment operations, financial services operations, dispute management, or a related operational discipline.
Proven capability in handling complex or escalated payment or dispute matters.
Experience training, mentoring, or supporting junior team members (formal or informal).
Sound understanding of payments, card operations, reconciliation processes, and operational controls.
Professional, composed, and customer-centred approach.
