So, what's the role?
The Credit Officer role is a 12-month fixed-term contract responsible for validating, analysing and assessing credit applications in line with Bank First's Credit Policy and procedures, supporting our members. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, team engagement and ongoing professional development.
In a Typical Day You Will Get Involved In
* Validate and approve loan applications within Delegated Lending Authority (DLA).
* Approval of more complex retail lending recommendations and decisions, including self‐employed applications.
* Evaluate creditworthiness and risks associated with each loan approval.
* Fully comply with responsible lending obligations including serviceability calculations and validation of income and living expenses.
* Identify and drive opportunities to improve policy, processes and systems.
* Assist with documenting and updating processes while providing subject matter expertise on projects as needed.
About You
You are an experienced credit assessor with a positive and professional manner.
You have a background in credit analysis; you possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to make informed credit decisions.
Ideally, You'll Have
* Experience with Third‐Party Assessments including Self‐Employed Income.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
* Currently hold or previously held a Delegated Lending Authority (essential).
