Senior Financial Accountant
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone in audit or a technically focused accounting role to step into a commercial environment, without compromising on complexity, challenge, or technical integrity.
The ideal candidate will be a technically strong accounting professional, ideally coming from an audit or professional services background, with a passion for financial reporting and compliance environments.
Your core focus will be on statutory reporting, audit coordination, and tax compliance. You'll also contribute to monthly reporting and financial analysis.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
* Coordinate external audits, including liaison with auditors, preparation of schedules, and response to queries.
* Oversee corporate tax compliance, including income tax, FBT, and BAS, in collaboration with external advisors.
* Support internal controls, risk assessments, and compliance with financial reporting obligations.
* Assist in group-level financial reporting and consolidation processes.
* Contribute to month-end close activities, including review of P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting analytics.
About You:
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years' experience, ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm, or a technical role in industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax compliance frameworks.
* Proven experience in managing or supporting audit engagements and statutory reporting cycles.
* Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of operating independently with a high degree of accuracy.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
