Van der Meer Consulting is a Structural and Civil Consulting Engineering group with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Our expanding company is currently seeking a suitably qualified Civil Designer for our Brisbane office.
Our Brisbane Civil team is a high energy environment where we pride ourselves on communication and honesty with our clients. Education and Experience
Senior candidates are encouraged to also apply.
The successful candidate will have the following:
* Technical or Associate degree in Drafting or Civil Engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant tertiary qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience using 12D or Civil 3D (C3D) software
* Minimum 3 years' experience gained within a consultancy environment
* Demonstrated experience in civil design/drafting of relevant projects including (desirable):
o Functional layouts
o Bulk Earthwork Design
o Retaining Wall Outputs
o Long sections
o Swept path analysis
* Competent in the use and knowledge of: 12D or C3D, AutoCAD, Drains, Vehicle Tracking, Microsoft Office, Australian Standards, Local Government Design Manuals, Local State streets or training to achieve competence.
Skills and Personal Attributes
* Understanding of relevant Australian standards, State and local Government policies and guidelines.
* Knowledge and application of Civil engineering codes, construction standards, specs, procedures and construction techniques.
* Strong time management skills in prioritising work in over multiple projects and project phases
* Problem-solving skills.
* Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and work with other engineers, designers and drafts people.
* Must demonstrate initiative and be a team player.
