Disability support worker (west gosford)

Ablepoint Australia provides an exceptional level of service to NDIS participants and we are seeking fun-loving individuals (female preferred) to join our team and be involved in our community of NDIS participants and to assist them in thriving to achieve their goals.

Location: Gosford, NSW
Hours: 4-8 hours a day Monday to Friday

• Certificate III or IV in disability/individual support (or currently undertaking studies)
• Driving licence and ability to drive
• Experience in mental disability sector or autistic patient experience, minimum 6 months
• Experience with mental health, complex and challenging behaviors, and high physical support needs highly regarded
• Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to develop positive relationships with clients and support their individual care plans
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English highly regarded

• Administer or assist participants with medications in accordance with their medication chart and care plan
• Support participants to develop and maintain independence and safety in personal care, health, and hygiene (eating, dressing, toileting, showering)
• Develop and implement programs with participants to grow their living skills and enable independent decision making and participation in the community
• Support participants with various household tasks including menu planning, cooking and serving meals, cleaning, shopping, and other activities of daily living
• Implement personal support plans for participants who demonstrate challenging behaviors and/or have high physical support needs
• All tasks completed in participants' residence or within our group homes

Casual

$31.00 - $35.00 per hour

Shift work

• First Aid Certification (preferred)
• Working with Children Check (preferred)
• National Police Certificate (preferred)
• Driver Licence (preferred)
