Safety Superintendent
About the Role:
This position involves improving safety, managing compliance, and leading training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive improvements in safety and training across departments
2. Ensure compliance with Redpath's Management Operating Procedures (MOPs)
3. Maintain and coordinate training needs analysis and documentation
4. Oversee environmental compliance and workplace inspections
5. Manage rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes
6. Deliver risk assessment and JSA training
7. Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings
8. Support incident investigations and reporting
9. Advise management on WHS legislation
10. Contribute to roster-change discussions and staff meetings
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in a senior safety role within mining
* Certificate IV in OHS (mandatory); Training & Assessment (beneficial)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* In-depth knowledge of WHS and Workers' Compensation legislation
* ICAM qualifications highly regarded
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Detail-oriented with a passion for continuous improvement
