The role of a Quality and Safety Specialist is multifaceted, encompassing ongoing daily quality and safety event reviews, as well as investigations into operational occurrences involving engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate and process daily engineering events to determine if further investigation is required.
* Collaborate with Fleet Engineering teams to address deficiencies or unserviceabilities reported.
* Investigate maintenance errors and escapes resulting from Aircraft Maintenance Organisations performing maintenance on behalf of Virgin Australia.
* Respond to regulatory bodies regarding engineering events.
* Assist in independent audits of external AMOs.
* Provide professional communication with other departments regarding engineering quality and safety matters.
* Participate in cross-functional teams enhancing engineering quality and safety initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
* LAME/AME qualifications and experience.
* Lead Auditor qualification and experience (ISO 9001 or IOSA Lead Auditor).
* Aviation Investigator qualifications (can be provided for the right person).
* Knowledge of Part 42/145 regulations.
* Undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in Aviation science (desirable but not essential).
* A strong understanding of human factors and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
