Business Development Manager - Commercial Lending
We're partnering with a leading Australian bank seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth across its commercial lending portfolio. This role sits within a high performing commercial banking team and focuses on originating complex, cash flow based lending transactions up to ~$50 million.
Base pay range : A$120,000/yr - A$180,000/yr

Key Responsibilities
* Originate new commercial lending opportunities (typically $5m–$50m) across cash flow and structured lending.
* Leverage your network of brokers, accountants, corporate advisers and private business owners to generate high quality deal flow.
* Lead deal discussions end-to-end, including financial analysis, structuring, pricing and negotiation.
* Prepare and present credit submissions in partnership with the credit team.
* Maintain deep market intelligence on industry trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
* Build strong internal relationships to ensure seamless deal execution and client experience.

You will be a commercially minded originator with the credibility and confidence to engage senior decision makers and win business in competitive markets.
We are looking for someone with:
* Proven experience in commercial, corporate or leveraged lending (bank, non-bank, or specialist lender).
* Strong networks within the mid‑market segment – advisers, brokers, accountants, or business owners.
* Demonstrated ability to structure and analyse complex credit transactions, including cash‑flow lending.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
* A self‑starter mindset and a genuine interest in helping businesses grow.
