About Your New Role
As a Risk Operations Officer, you will play a crucial part in delivering and maintaining the control library and register. You will be involved in testing controls on a risk-based approach, conducting regular Risk and Control Self Assessments, and implementing remedial actions as necessary.
You will report to the Head of Controls and work closely with business leaders and control owners to enhance the effectiveness of controls and supporting documentation.
You will develop processes to improve controls for effective risk and compliance management. You will ensure that the control environment is aligned with our processes and supported by automated and outcome-focused controls to achieve regulatory compliance and internal policies.
You will support business leaders to identify, assess, and manage risks in line with the risk management framework, policies, ICMs, and SOPs, and the control standard.
You will report on the outcomes of control testing. In conjunction with business leaders, you will conduct regular risk and control self-assessments and document/report remedial actions as appropriate.
You will optimize key control performance and decision-making by providing clear control success measures with targets and meaningful insights.
You will provide reporting and analysis on residual risk exposure, key trends, and issues and incidents.
Your Requirements
1. An undergraduate degree in a legal, commercial, or business field (highly desirable).
2. Previous experience in developing, uplifting, testing, and improving controls processes, including control design, implementation, and ongoing management.
3. Experience as a risk operations control officer, risk, or compliance officer within a large organisation, complex, highly regulated organisation.
4. Previous understanding and experience in implementing business drivers for problem-solving.
5. Knowledge of regulatory obligations as they relate to our organisation, would be highly regarded.
6. The ability to interpret data and information.
7. The ability to provide audit reports and analysis on the business.
8. The ability to communicate and implement all statutory processes.
