About Us

HTANALYSTS is a specialist consultancy with over two decades of experience in the health and wellness sectors. We combine evidence and economics to provide innovative solutions across healthcare, social impact, sustainability, and beyond.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Health Economist who will lead the design, execution, and communication of economic evaluations that inform policy, access, and investment decisions. The ideal candidate will work across a diverse range of disease areas and product types, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health, public health programs, and social interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and adapt cost-effectiveness analyses (e.g., cost-utility analyses, Markov models, partitioned survival, decision trees)
* Lead development of economic evaluations for HTA submissions to PBAC, MSAC, Pharmac, MDHTAC, and other agencies
* Apply economic methods to broader frameworks such as SROI and impact assessment
* Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences through reports and presentations
* Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and relevance
* Contribute to client relationships, business development, and proposal writing
* Support internal capability-building and mentoring of junior staff

About You

You're a curious and detail-oriented health economist who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a real-world difference through rigorous, applied economic analysis.

Requirements:

* Master's degree or PhD in health economics, economics, public health, or related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in HEOR, consulting, academia, pharmaceutical/medtech, or similar industry
* Strong technical expertise in economic modelling (Excel, TreeAge, R, or similar platforms)
* Practical experience preparing submissions for HTA agencies
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams
* Experience with SROI, impact assessment, or value frameworks
* Poor-reviewed publications or conference presentations
* Experience in biostatistics, particularly applied to clinical trial data or real-world evidence

Benefits:

* Diverse and Purposeful Work: Work with a wide variety of products across multiple sectors that genuinely improve people's lives.
* No two projects are the same, and all are rooted in meaningful applied impact that supports access to effective treatments.
* Regional and Global Reach: Make your mark in shaping access and policy across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
* You'll also have the opportunity to engage in international research collaborations and policy dialogues.
* Conference Participation and Travel: We actively encourage staff to attend and present at leading industry conferences.
* This includes international travel, abstract development support, and presentation coaching.
* Flexible, Remote-Friendly Culture: Work where you're most effective; at home, in the office, or a mix of both.
* We offer flexible hours and a trusting, respectful environment that values outcomes over time on the clock.
* Professional Development and Mentoring: We are deeply committed to professional growth.
* Team members are supported with structured mentoring, internal training, and access to continuing education.
* We promote based on merit, not tenure or vacancy.
* If you're ready to step up, we want to recognise your ability.
* Collaborative, Supportive Team Culture: Join a tight-knit team that values mutual support, open dialogue, and shared learning.
* We celebrate our wins, reflect on our challenges, and prioritise a healthy workplace.
