About The Role

The VSO3WK Farm Instructor and VSO4WK Farm Supervisor are responsible for the management and control of the farming operations and work output of the prisoners under their supervision. They will have constructive interaction with prisoners about the philosophy, aims and objectives of the prison and production undertaken on the farm. It is essential that Farm Officers operate as a working team and consult with colleagues in areas such as prisoner work placement and allocation of duties and maintain a harmonious working relationship within the work environment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Successful Applicants Must Possess a Certificate III In
* Rural Operations and/or
* Agriculture and/or
* Permaculture and/or
* Feedlot Operations and/or
* Rural Machinery Operations.

Subsequent Vacancies

Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies in the Department of Justice for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with Part 5 (General Appointment) of the Commissioner's Instructions No. 2: Filling a Public Sector Vacancy and Commissioner's Instructions and No. 39: Interim Arrangements to Fill Public Sector Vacancies. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered during this period.
