Position Information
Oran Park High School, which opened at the start of the 2020 school year, is a future focused learning partnership with high expectations that meets the individual needs of all learners. Housed in brand new, state-of-the art facilities, the school has a strong focus on relationships, high quality and innovative teaching and learning, and links to the local and wider community, particularly the partner primary schools Oran Park PS and Barramurra PS. Built to meet the population needs of the Oran Park/Catherine Park/Gledswood Hills growth corridor, the school will eventually be home to up to 2000 students, including a Support Unit catering for the needs of students with Autism and Multi-Categorical diagnoses. The school currently has 1605 students and approximately 160 teaching and support staff. 2024 saw its first Year 12 cohort sit for the HSC credential. The school has developed strong partnerships with many organisations including the Narellan Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), Greenfields/Oran Park Town, Western Sydney University and the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN). Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach English Years 7-12.
* Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within the English faculty to develop quality teaching and learning programs.
* Ability to use effective classroom management skills to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
* Highly developed communication skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and families
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
