Support Clinical Excellence Across Four Acute Sites: East Melbourne, Fitzroy, Werribee & Kew

Make a Lasting Impact on Orthopaedic Nursing Education

* Drive Innovation in Clinical Education
* Collaborate Across Campuses
* Grow Your Leadership Profile

Are you passionate about shaping the future of orthopaedic nursing? Join St Vincent's Private Hospitals' dynamic Education Team and lead the delivery of innovative, high-quality clinical education that supports best-practice care across our acute campuses.

This is an exciting new permanent part-time (0.7FTE) opportunity that allows you to contribute to professional growth, clinical development, and improved patient outcomes.

St Vincent's Private Melbourne is a facility of St Vincent's Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.

About The Role

As the Orthopaedic Education Consultant at St Vincent's Private Hospitals, you will play a critical leadership role in advancing clinical excellence across our four acute sites: East Melbourne, Fitzroy, Kew, and Werribee. You will be the key educational resource for orthopaedic care, responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating high-quality, evidence-based learning programs that empower our staff and improve patient outcomes.

In this role, you will lead the development of specialised education programs—including our Introduction to Specialty Practice Program—designed to build advanced clinical capabilities in early-career and transitioning nurses. You will provide tailored support to orthopaedic ward staff, perioperative teams, and postgraduate students, helping shape the next generation of orthopaedic specialists.

Your focus will extend beyond instruction to include research, mentorship, and quality improvement. You will collaborate across disciplines, drive a culture of inquiry, and embed best-practice principles into every aspect of education delivery. By aligning learning with strategic organisational goals, you will also help build career pathways that support staff growth and capability within the orthopaedic specialty.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence clinical care standards, enhance workforce capability, and strengthen St Vincent's position as a leader in orthopaedic education and excellence.

What You'll Be Doing
* Identify learning needs and develop tailored educational strategies that enhance orthopaedic nursing practice.
* Deliver engaging, evidence-based clinical education to postgraduate students, graduates, enrolled, and registered nurses.
* Champion excellence in multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical mentoring, and continuous improvement.
* Drive the adoption of educational technologies and contemporary teaching methods across all four campuses.

About You – The Ideal Candidate

You are a passionate educator and clinical expert with:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Minimum 5 years of recent orthopaedic nursing experience.
* Postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedic Nursing.
* Demonstrated experience designing and delivering clinical education programs.
* Proven ability to support a broad range of learners, including ENs, RNs, graduates, and postgraduates.
* Strong digital literacy and experience with education technologies.
* Flexibility to travel between East Melbourne, Fitzroy, Werribee and Kew campuses.
* (Highly desirable) Perioperative experience within orthopaedics.

Why Join Us?
* Be part of a mission-driven organisation committed to compassion, justice, integrity and excellence.
* Work alongside passionate clinical educators and nursing professionals.
* Influence clinical outcomes through outstanding education and mentorship.
* Access salary packaging, professional development, and a supportive team culture.
