Welcome to Drifter, Australia's newest hospitality playground designed for free spirits and adventure‐seekers. We blend the boutique comfort of a hotel with the community‐driven spirit of a modern hostel — creating vibrant spaces where travellers from around the world come together to connect, unwind, and explore.
We're looking for a Property Manager to lead our Bondi property. Someone who enjoys being in the middle of the operation — supporting the team, solving problems, and making sure guests have a great experience from the moment they arrive.
The Opportunity
This is a hands‐on operational leadership role with responsibility for the day‐to‐day running of the hostel.
You'll lead the team on site, keep the operation running smoothly, and make sure the hostel consistently delivers the welcoming, social experience Drifter is known for. Some days that means supporting the front desk during a busy check‐in. Other days, it's working with your supervisors to solve problems, improve how things are run, or coach someone in the team.
You'll work closely with the Regional General Manager to keep the property performing well – managing staff, watching costs, supporting revenue opportunities, and making sure standards stay high.
This role would suit an experience hospitality leader, or someone currently working as a Supervisor or Duty Manager who's ready to step up and run their own property. As one of the smaller properties in our group, it's a great place to build management experience and grow into more senior roles over time.
Our properties operate 24/7, so flexibility across evenings, weekends and public holidays is part of the role.
What We're Looking For
You're someone who enjoys running an operation and build strong teams. You're practical, approachable, and comfortable making decisions when things get busy. You care about guest experience, but you also understand the operational side of hospitality — staffing, costs, and making sure things actually run well day‐to‐day.
You'll Likely Bring
* Experience working in hospitality operations such as hostels, hotels, or guest accommodation
* Leadership experience as a Supervisor, Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar role
* Confidence managing guest issues and operational challenges
* Experience managing rosters, staffing, or team performance
* A hands‐on approach and a willingness to jump in when needed
And Just As Importantly
* A genuine interest in hospitality and travel
* A leadership style that supports and develops people
* A practical mindset that looks for solutions rather than problems
What You Can Expect At Drifter
This role comes with real ownership of a property and the opportunity to shape the team, culture, and guest experience.
Alongside That, You'll Have
* Career progression opportunities across Drifter properties
* Mates' rates across our accommodation network for you, your family, and your travel crew
* Birthday leave for permanent team members
* Employee Assistance Program and free annual flu vaccination
* Access to our online learning and development platformDiscounts on everyday brands through our employee benefits program
* Opportunities to explore roles and travel across Australia and New Zealand
* Access to our Work for Accommodation program
* Future sponsorship pathway opportunities for exceptional team members
Drifter is, collaborative, practical, and values‐led. Professional but not stuffy, we're a welcoming and inclusive workplace and proudly welcome team members from all races, places, genders expressions, and beliefs.
If this sounds like a place you'd enjoy working, we'd love to hear from you.
