Rupert & Hound, Launceston’s lively waterfront restaurant at Seaport, is on the lookout for passionate kitchen professionals to join our crew. Key Responsibilities
As part of the Rupert & Hound kitchen team, you will:
- Prepare and cook high quality seafood and modern Australian dishes using seasonal and local produce.
- Work independently across pans, grill and prep sections.
- Ensure every plate is on point with flavour, presentation and food safety.
- Maintain a clean, productive and well-organised section.
- Contribute to menu development and weekly specials.
- Uphold exceptional standards of hygiene and workplace safety.
- Bring energy, focus and team spirit to every service.
Key Requirements – Qualified Chef
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced, à la carte kitchen.
- Strong experience on pans and/or grill in a high-volume setting.
- Ability to manage prep and service with consistency.
- Calm, professional approach under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, split shifts and public holidays.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
- Full Australian work rights (visa sponsorship is not available).
