About the Role
The Health & Safety Officer is a newly created position to support the Health & Safety Advisor and operational managers to drive a culture of safety and compliance. You will do this through providing advice on health and safety matters; and supporting the implementation of best practice initiatives aimed at minimising workplace injuries and positive workforce health and wellbeing outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about contributing to a culture of safety, wellbeing and compliance, be customer service focussed and results oriented.
You will also have:
Experience in the implementation of workplace safety, health and wellness programs.
Experience in internal auditing/ inspections and monitoring compliance.
Knowledge of OHS legislation and related standards across a range of hazard areas including building and construction, healthcare and aged care, community care and office related settings.
Demonstrated experience in providing expert advice on OHS related matters and supporting key stakeholders to meet their OHS responsibilities via coaching and education.
High level of initiative, and ability to manage and coordinate projects autonomously with minimal supervision.
Effectively manage time, organise workload and multi-task when necessary
Current driver's licence and ability to drive.
Satisfactory completion of a National Police Records Check (arranged by Vasey RSL Care).
Valid working rights which will be subject to a VEVO check.
