We are looking for an Academic Manager (Business) to manage operational aspects of academic delivery and quality assurance for business courses at our University of Tasmania (UTAS) Study Centre in Ultimo, Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that the delivery of all business courses at the Ultimo Study Centre meets or exceeds UTAS requirements and standards.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders to secure necessary resources and meet academic delivery requirements.
* Advise the Academic Director on continuous improvement of delivery, student experience, and campus operations.
* Teach one or more subjects in the suite of business courses offered in Sydney.
* Conduct student consultation and academic counselling for students who require additional support.
* Implement early intervention strategies in collaboration with Learning Support Coordinators for students at risk and monitor their progress according to UTAS policies and procedures.
* Maintain currency in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and in the incumbent's discipline by undertaking scholarly work and professional development.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
* A PhD in a relevant discipline.
* 3+ years' experience in higher education teaching.
* Experience in course coordination/management from both strategic and operational perspectives.
* Demonstrated track record in supporting the success of international students.
* Knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students.
* Superior stakeholder management and student engagement skills.
* Desirable:
o Graduate Certificate or above in learning and teaching or tertiary education.
o Experience in higher education quality assurance.
o Experience with third‐party course delivery.
o Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
